Kuakata is a part of tourism industry in Bangladesh. How did Kuakata get its Name?
When the early Rakhine immigrants arrived on the Kuakata coast after being exiled from Arakan (Myanmar) by Moughals, they dug a well on the seashore to collect drinking water, therefore the name Kuakata. After that, digging a Kua-Well for water has become a custom among the Rakhaine tribes.

Kuakata Buddhist Temple:
