Rajshahi, located on the banks of the Padma River, is one of the most traditional and old cities in Bangladesh. Rajshahi district, renowned for its mango and silk fabrics, is the largest city in the entire Rajshahi division. Rajshahi is a metropolis and a major urban, commercial, and educational hub in Bangladesh. It is also the administrative center for the namesake division and district. 1. Puthia Rajbari, Rajshahi/পুঠিয়া রাজবাড়ি
Puthia Rajbari in Puthia Upazila, Rajshahi, is a one-of-a-kind specimen of Rajshahi’s enticing architecture. The distance between Puthia Rajbari and the Rajshahi-Natore motorway is only 1 kilometer. A two-story palace in the Indo-European style. In honor of her mother-in-law Maharani Sarda Sundori Devi, Rani Hemanta Kumari created the palace in 1895. Now serves as the Laskarpur Degree College.
The two-story Edifice Palace with Puthia multi-room is accessible via a lion door to the north. From this location, Zamindars and kings managed their royal affairs.
The trenches encircling Puthia rajbari are known by various names. In addition to Shiv Sarovar or Sivasagar, Marachowki, Bekichowki, Gopalchowki, and Govind Sarovar Parikha, Shyamsagar is the name of a large pond located in Rajbari.
Here, two palaces and a number of temples constructed by zamindars still stand with their heads held high.
One of them is the Boro Ahnik temple, which was constructed using the Dochala system. Others include the Boro Shiva Temple or Bhubaneswar Temple, which was constructed in 1823, the four-story Puthiya Dol Temple, and the Govindtemple on the grounds of the Puthiya Panchani Zamindar House.

How to Go To Puthia Rajbari
First go to Rajshahi by Bus or tarin. Bus is available from Gabtoli, Kalyanpur, Green Line, and Desh Travels travels to Rajshahi from Tk 1000 – 1200(Ac) and from Tk 500 – 600( Non-Ac buses like like Shyamoli, Hanif, National Travels, Bablu Enterprise, etc).
Rajshahi to Puthiya Rajbari
The distances by road from Rajshahi and Natore to Puthia Rajbari are respectively 34 km and 18 km. On any bus traveling to Rajshahi, passengers can stop at the Puthia bus terminal on the Rajshahi-Natore route and walk 5 to 10 minutes to Rajbari.
In addition, it is possible to take a bus directly to Natore and Puthia from the Rajshahi Central Bus Terminal.
2.Utshab Park, Rajshahi/উৎসব পার্ক
On the banks of Bagha Dighi, just two kilometers from Bagha Upazila in Rajshahi, the Utshab Park has been established in a rural setting with a variety of amusement options.
The park was established in 2014 on roughly 80 bighas of land as a result of a personal initiative. In the life of modest villagers, Utshab Park has contributed extraordinary amusement elements to the urban philosophy.
The breathtaking rides of the Utshab park, which is surrounded by woods, feature eight different rides, such as trains, nagardola, swirls, and swings, as well as amazing sculptures of various animals, resting benches, lakes, and picnic areas.

How to reach Utthab Park
Bagha Upazila is around 47 kilometers away from Rajshahi. Bagha Upazila is accessible via autorickshaw or local bus service. From anywhere within the Bagha Upazila, you may reach the Utshab park within two kilometers by rickshaw or on foot.

3.Bagha Masjid, Rajshahi/বাঘা মসজিদ
The old Bagha Masjid (Bagha Mosque) is located approximately 40 kilometers from the city of Rajshahi.
Inside and outside of the Bagha mosque are multiple charred earthen plaques. On the high altar within the mosque is a prayer space.
With the exception of five openings on the eastern side, the mosque’s north-south walls have been shuttered. Unknown is the identity of the individual or individuals who reserved this prayer space.
The 23.16-meter-long and 12.80-meter-wide roof of the Bagha Mosque was destroyed by a catastrophic earthquake in 1897. The dome and roof of Bagha Mosque were rebuilt by the Bangladesh Archaeology Department.

4. Chhoto Shona Mosque, Chapai Nawabganj
The historic Chhoto Sona Masjid mosque is located in the Chapai Nawabganj district of Bangladesh’s Rajshahi division. The mosque is around 3 kilometers south of Kotwali Gate and approximately two hours’ journey from Rajshahi.
The Chhoto Shona Masjid is reportedly one of the oldest mosques in Bangladesh. During this time period, it was built. The mosque is one of the world’s finest examples of Goura and pre-Mughal architecture. Wali Mohammad constructed the mosque during the reign of Sultan Alauddin Hussein Shah. The bricks that make up the majority of the mosque are covered with black stones. The beautiful decorations on these black stones rendered the mosque alluring. The inside and exterior of the edifice are composed of architecture cut into rocks.
The mosque has fifteen domes in all. Among these domes, only the outermost domes are visible, which is an unusual characteristic. In order to secure the safety of local Sultans and officials, the mosque has a prayer room that has been particularly furnished for them.
Mangoes are a native delicacy as well. In the vicinity of this mosque are also mango groves. This is a lovely place to visit, and the mosque is breathtaking.
5. Rajshahi Central Zoo, Rajshahi/রাজশাহী কেন্দ্রীয় চিড়িয়াখানা
The Central Zoo is about 4.2 kilometers away from the city. The Rajshahi Central Park and Zoo are constructed on the former racetrack that surrounded the Padma and encompasses 32.76 acres.
It was established close to Shaheed AHM Kamaruzzaman Road in 1972. With the authorization of the Revenue Department, a children’s park was constructed in conjunction with the zoo in 1974-1976. The zoo was then renamed Shaheed AHM Kamaruzzaman Central Park and Zoo (Shaheed A.H.M. Kamruzzaman Central Park & Zoo).
A colossal giraffe sculpture and a mermaid fountain are adjacent to the zoo’s main entrance gate, which is enclosed by a small lake surrounded by different sculptures and bridges.
The zoo features remarkable collections of aquatic and terrestrial animals, including bajrika, balihas, horses, deer, otters, python snakes, and crocodiles, among many more. Currently, this children’s park is one of the entertainment hubs in the city of Rajshahi. Every day in Rajshahi, in addition to local visitors, students and tourists from various educational institutions meet for educational tours and picnics.

How to go to Rajshahi Central Zoo?
Rajshahi National Park and Zoo are only 3 kilometers from Zero Point in Rajshahi city, to the east of the Rajshahi divisional commissioner’s office and the police line. From the city’s Zero Point, this park is easily accessible either rickshaw or auto.
6. Barendra Research Museum, Rajshahi/বরেন্দ্র গবেষণা জাদুঘর
The Barendra Research Museum, located in the heart of Rajshahi, is a museum, research center, and popular tourist destination. The oldest museum in Bangladesh is operated by Rajshahi University and is often considered as such. In 1910, the Maharaja of Dighapotia provided funding for the opening of the first museum in East Bengal.
The museum has historical and cultural significance in Bangladesh. In our country, century-old museums are trendy. The most significant museum is the Varendra Research Museum, which contains a great collection of ancient and antique monuments. A traveler can become completely immersed in the past. It is an excellent resource for discovering and retracing the nation’s historical brilliance.
Multiple instances have posed threats to the Barendra Research Museum’s continued existence. From 1949 to 1961, a medical school occupied a portion of the Barendra Museum.
In 1964, when the Barendra Research Museum was about to close, Rajshahi University acquired it. Several notable figures have visited the Barendra Research Museum, including Mahatma Gandhi, Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, and others.

7. Shishu Park, Rajshahi/শিশু পার্ক, রাজশাহী

There are also physical games available for free for youngsters 10 years younger. There are separate prayer areas for males and women, restrooms, and parking for vehiclesștii.știi.

The entrance fee at Shaheed Zia Children’s Park is Tk 25, and the park is open to guests from 10 am to 6 pm.

From Rajshahi Sadar bus terminal to Shishu Park, take a CNG or rickshaw.
8. Safina Park, Rajshashi/সাফিনা পার্ক
On around 40 bighas of land in Digram Khajurtala, Godagadi Upazila, Rajshahi, Safina Park was established in 2012. Godagadi lies around 9 kilometers from Safina Park.
After being closed for nearly two years, the lone entertainment complex in Upazila reopened in 2018. Safina Park is growing appeal as a picnic and entertainment destination for guests of all ages due to the addition of additional attractions.
Safina Park is one of the most family-friendly tourist destinations in Rajshahi’s central neighborhood.
The park is surrounded by flowers, fruits, and medicinal plants and features stunning fountains and sculptures of a variety of artificial creatures.
The children’s entertainment options include Nagardola, Swing, Train, 3D Cinema, and Kids Sports Zone. On two lakes located within the park, visitors may, if they so choose, travel by boat.
With permission, fishing is permitted in the lake. Safina Park is equipped with two picnic areas, conference rooms, and a stage for any occasion. Additionally, a market has been built within the park to accommodate the shopping needs of park visitors.

At the cost of Tk 20 per person, Safina Park is open daily from 8 am to 6 pm.
How to go to Safina Park?
You must first arrive in Rajshahi in order to visit Safina Park. From Dhaka, Rajshahi is accessible through road, train, and air.
Safina Park is around 9 kilometers from Zero Point in the Godavari and is accessible by local transport from Rajshahi cities, including buses, CNG, and autorickshaws.
9. Hardinge Bridge
The Hardinge Bridge It used to be the country’s longest railroad bridge. This bridge goes over the big river Padma.
It is close to the town of Pabna district. Visit the site and look at the river’s dry basin to see how the once-bustling place has changed. Bangladeshi culture has a lot to do with the river Padma.
10.Shaheed Sriti Museum, Rajshahi/শহীদ স্মৃতি জাদুঘর
Rajshahi University, the only notable university in northern Bangladesh, has erected its first Martyrs’ Memorial Museum (RU Martyrs’ Memorial Museum) with a collection linked to the independence fight.
The Museum of Liberation War is dedicated to preserving the history and recollections of the Liberation War. 1976 marked the beginning of the museum’s journey at the shaheed minar complex of Rajshahi University in an effort to invigorate the younger generation in the spirit of the liberation fight.
The Martyrs’ Memorial Museum is composed of three galleries and was constructed with 6,600 square feet of area and superior architectural skill. From 1952 until 1971, the first gallery displayed numerous artifacts from the Liberation War, i.e. items relating to the history of Bangladesh.
The gallery features many photographs of the 1969 mass revolt, the clothing worn by freedom fighters, the first martyrs’ minar in Rajshahi, various photographs based on liberation war, photographs of liberation war by artists, portraits, and countless unique collections related to liberation war.
Opening Time:
Except for Fridays and Saturdays, the Martyrs’ Memorial Museum is open daily from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
How do You reach Shaheed Sriti Museum?
Any area of the country can reach Rajshahi through bus and train. It is approximately 5 kilometers from the city to Rajshahi University.
11. Natore Rajbari
Natore Rajbari was a famous royal palace in the city of Natore, which is located in the Rajshahi Division. It is sometimes referred to as Pagla Raja’s Palace.
The present palace of Natore is situated in the heart of the district on a total land area of around 48 hectares. It was the home and administrative center of the Rajshahi Raj Family. Here there resided the famous Bengali queen Rani Bhabani. Rani Bhabani was notorious for this castle and the Natore neighborhood. In the Rajshahi Division, these are still popular tourist sites.
This once-beautiful complex had a variety of fine architectural elements, such as big entrances, large tanks, orchards, courtyards, ponds, canals, and temples. It features a reception area, verandas, a central hall, and a Nat-Mandap. Both domestic and international tourists are drawn to this palace.
There are six structures, both large and tiny, as well as two deep ponds and five shallow ponds. The palace is encircled by two levels of fencing. The entire area is divided into two parts: the short and long sides. Shymsundara Temple, Anandamayi Kalibari Temple, and Tarekeshwar Shiva Temple are three of the most notable temples in Rajbari.
In addition, it contains structures such as the Rani Bhaban, Kachari Bhaban, Guest House, and Madhu Rani Bhaban. Since 1998, the entirety of Rajbari has been managed by the district administration as Rani Bhabani Central Park or Youth Park.
The Natore Rajbari is one of the historical artifacts that must be preserved and cared for in order to attract more local and international tourists.
12. Sompur Maha Vihar, Naogaon
Sompur Maha Vihar, also known as Paharpur Buddhist Vihar, is one of the historic sites. It is among the largest Buddhist vihars on the Indian Subcontinent. This is a popular tourist attraction in Bangladesh.
Sompur Maha Vihar is located in the village of Paharpur in the district of Naogaon. It was one of the primary Buddhist monastic establishments in ancient Bengal. The unearthed monastery complex at Pharpur has been linked to the Sompur Maha Vihar, which was constructed by the second Pala ruler, Dharma Pala.
Several clay seals discovered in the ruins have the inscription Shri-Sompur-Shri-Dharmapaladeva-Mahavihariya-Bhiksu-Sangghasya. The Pala Rulers were devout Buddhists who established a number of monasteries across their expanding territory. Some of them became excellent learning centers, and their fame swiftly extended across Asia.
Monks of the Buddhist faith once gathered here to discuss topics other than Buddhism. The monks from China, India, Japan, and other regions of the world gather to share their knowledge of culture, politics, and the arts, among otherștiinces.
The architectural design of this Buddhist monastery is unsurpassed. In 1985, UNESCO classified this outstanding archaeological site as a World Heritage Site.
13. Chalanbil Natore
The country’s most major wetland areas are renowned for their fish and exotic native birds. At the intersection of Pabna, Sirajgonj, and Natore, there are huge low-lying marshes known as Chalanbil.
Singra, Gurdaspur, Baraigram, Chatmohar, Faridpur, Bhbangura, Selenga, and Tarasha Upazila are all included in the vast territory covered by the Bil. It is one of the most fascinating tourist destinations in the Rajshahi Division.
During the wet season, the peak-perennial wave of this Bil mesmerized onlookers. On the Hatikumrul-Banpara highway, practically every day during the monsoon, local and foreign tourists experience the movement’s splendor.
There are currently numerous large lakes, including Jaisagor Dighi, Ulipur Dighi, Tanjesh Kunjban, Naogaon Bhanusingh Dighi, Bazar Dighi, Mathura Dighi, Dhanchala Dighi, Vat Dighi of Deipur, Muniya Dighi, and others. These Dighi islands are now a fish farm.
14. Mahasthan Garh, Bogra
The archaeological site at Mahasthan Garh is one of the earliest urban sites discovered in Bangladesh. It is located inside Shibganj Thana, Bogra District, Rajshahi Division. In Pundravardhana’s territory, the village of Mahasthan has the ruins of an old city formerly known as Pundranagar or Pundravardhanapura. It is the oldest attraction in the Rajshahi Division.
Mahasthan signifies a place of supreme sanctity, whereas Garh implies fortress. Vallalcharita, a Sanskrit work from the thirteenth century, is where Mahasthan was first referenced. In 1685, an administrative order designated the area as Mastangarh, a combination of Sanskrit and Persian that means fortified place of an auspicious person.
Mahasthangarh, the former capital of Pundravardhana, is located 11 kilometers north of Bogra on the Bogra-Rangpur Highway, with a feeder road heading to Jahajghata and a site museum. It is said that the area was chosen for the city’s location since it is one of Bangladesh’s most attractive places. Mahasthangarh is located on the red soil of the Barind Tract, which is slightly raised in the predominantly alluvium region.
Existing within the fortifications are a number of mounds and structural remnants. Several of these include Jiat Kunda, Mankalir Dhap, Parasuramer Basgriha, Bairagir Bhita, Khodar Pathor Bhita, and Munir Gaon.
15. Lakshindar Behular Basar Ghar/বেহুলার বাসর ঘর
Lakshindar Behula Basar Ghar’s excavation site is in the village of Bogra Sadar Thana, which is near Gokul. A different way to call Gokul Medh. Gokul’s place is about a half mile from Mahasthangar. The most well-known archeological site here is the House of Behula-Laksmindar. This is where the hero and heroine of a popular Bengali folk ballad lived.
This place is also known by the name Laksmindarer Medh. As part of Behula’s Basar Ghar, dirt was poured into 172 rooms to make a base for a tall temple or a stack. The parallel lofted walls and the raised, multi-story design are important parts of the style of architecture.
