Rangpur, in the Rangpur District of the Division, is a famous Bangladeshi city. Rangpur was governed by the Mughals for centuries. The Mughals erected Mughalbasa and Mughalhat at Rangpur. The British East India Company also ran Rangpur.
It’s 312 km northwest of Bangladesh’s capital, Dhaka. The district’s administrative center was Rangpur on December 16, 1769.
The municipal office building was built in 1892 by Raja Janaki Ballav Sen. The Shyamasundari canal was dug in 1890 to develop the city.

How to Go to Rangpur
By Bus
Kalyanpur and Gabtoli bus terminals serve Rangpur. Nabil Paribahan, Haque Enterprise, S.R Travels (Pvt) Ltd, Agomony Express, Ena Transport (Pvt) Ltd, Hanif Enterprise, Manik Express, Dipjol Enterprise, Barkat Travels, and Khaja Travels are all prominent AC and non-AC bus operators on this route. Dhaka and Rangpur are over 316 km apart. Traffic delays aside, the bus leaves the terminal on time.
Bus tickets cost BDT 500 to BDT 1200, depending on the operator, and take 8 to 9 hours, depending on road conditions.
Dinajpur has rail connection from Dhaka. Except on Sundays and Wednesdays, Rangpur Express and Kurigram Express run daily between Dhaka and Rangpur.
