LPG stands for liquefied Petroleum Gas and it also call as Autogas or cyllinder Gas. LPS consists mainly of propane, propylene, butane, and butylene in various mixtures. Moreover, it is also a by-product of natural gas and petroleum refining.
LPG means Liquefied petroleum gas and this is very fast growing sector in Bangladesh due lack of natural gas availability in our country. LPG is combination of hydrocarbon gases which is used as fuel in our kitchen as a cooking equipment and fuel gas for vehicles. This proportion of mixture is 48% propane, 50% butane, and 2% pentane.

Local players like Basundhara, Jamuna, Omera, TK Gas, and foreign corporations like TotalGaz and Laugfs Gas make up the LPG sector in Bangladesh (corporate brand name Kleanheat gas).
Omera’s annual sales volume is 140,000 MT. Omera LPG’s primary plant, with a capacity of 3,800 MT, is located in Mongla. Bashundhara LPG operates a state-of-the-art LP Gas plant in Mongla with a 3,000 metric ton capacity and a daily refill capability of 50,000 gas cylinders. Bashundhara (24%) leads the LPG market, followed by Omera (20%), Jamuna (17%), and BM (15%). (11 percent ).
From 817,736 MT in 2018 to 2,921,676 MT in 2024, the market is expected to rise 3.5 times. Any new entrant into the LPG market should make a point of securing distribution in low-penetration areas. Tracking regional expansion in the Middle and Affluent Class (MAC) population while identifying places that would host economic zones would be a road map.
