Chittagong Eye Infirmary and Training Complex

Chittagong Eye Infirmary and Training Complex is one of the popular and trusted Hospital in Bangladesh located in Chittagong,  Chittagong Eye Infirmary  is equipped with modern instruments and technologies facilities and offers round the clock services including emergencies for indoor and outdoor patients.

There was also a need to provide eye care services to the uninsured across the country. Local initiatives and Andheri-Hilfe sponsorship led to the establishment of 8 satellite eye care centres, each with 30-50 beds, in Dhaka, Khulna, Mymensingh, Dinajpur, Sirajgonj, Chandpur, Moulavibazar, and Patuakhali. Prof. Rabiul Husain provided all technical assistance and direction until these centers were self-sufficient. The Chittagong Eye Infirmary and Training Complex (CEITC) is now one of the country’s major eye treatment and training facilities.

To meet the growing need for eye care services across the country, the organization has launched a number of training programs for doctors, nurses, paramedics, optometrists, and other technical staff.

The Institute of Community Ophthalmology, University of Chittagong, was established on the CEITC Campus in 1991. The Institute provides doctors a two-year training in Community Ophthalmology that leads to a Diploma in Community Ophthalmology (DCO).

The institute, in partnership with Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University, has begun accepting M.S. (BSMMU). The institute also offers a 4-year Bachelor of Optometry program.
