In 1980, Bengal was established with the intention of becoming one of the most successful industrial and commercial businesses in Bangladesh. Bengal began as a manufacturer and distributor of local brands with the intention of producing local goods.

In 1980, Bangladesh took a significant step toward developing its commercial sector when it started manufacturing biscuits and candy.

There are three top indigenous brands in Bengal, around twenty-eight SKU in the FMCG product list, twenty-four sales and distribution sites, and more than six hundred distributors who service more than two hundred fifty thousand outlets.
