The main project of the National Heart Foundation of Bangladesh is the National Heart Foundation Hospital and Research Institute. It is crucial in carrying out the foundation’s aims.
Background History:
It began as a simple building, funded by a grant from the A.N.H. Bari Trust. It was then upgraded to a 330-bed tertiary care hospital thanks to support from the government, individuals, and a variety of organizations both at home and beyond the world Every type of current noninvasive and invasive study, including interventional cardiology, is conducted at this facility on a regular basis.
Modern Research and Treatment Facilities :
Instead of traveling abroad, many cardiac patients use this hospital’s modern investigations and treatment facilities, saving a significant amount of money. This hospital serves 30% of impoverished patients for free, and all investigations and treatments are performed at cheaper costs than at other hospitals.
The National Heart Foundation Hospital Trust manages the hospital. A team of highly qualified specialists, the doctors and employees at this hospital are dedicated to achieving their goals and making this hospital a center of excellence.
Expansion :
With the cooperation of the Ministry of Social Welfare, Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, a new hospital building with a 15-story foundation is under construction at Darussalam Road, Mirpur, to handle an increasing number of cardiac patients. This project will make it easier to provide modern outdoor, diagnostic, and rehabilitation facilities to a larger number of cardiac patients, as well as provide training for other essential personnel.
Specialized Service :
A dedicated 150-bed cardiac unit for women and children will be housed in this structure to provide specialist care to women and pediatric heart patients. The Ministry of Women and Children Affairs assisted in the construction of this institution. By 2015, it is scheduled to be fully operational.
